Hawai’i does not consist of just one island. There are 8 islands in the “Hawaiian Island’s Chain” (Hawai’i Island, Maui, Moloka’i, Lana’i, O’ahu, Kaua’i, Ni’ihau and Kaho’olawe). There are a total of 132 islands in the Hawaiian archipelago. The names of the major islands are also not pronounced HA-WAI, MAWEE, MOLAKAI, LANAI, OWAHOO, KAWAI AND NEEHOW.
